ROSS DALY'S CDs in chronological order

It is my hope from this thread to be able to come up with a list of Ross's albums - listed by the year they were made.

I know Ross and wrote him a while back asking him this - but he never answered :) ...I think I have most of his albums (on MP3- of which he does not object), but find it irritating just to have them scattered all in one "ROSS" folder and not have any idea how it fits into his progress and one of the most interesting musicians that I know.

Another thing which gets confusing is that many of the CDs are named in Greek.

Yes... but still I have always been confused. Ross was always saying that he has 25 or 30 CDs out but I could never find so many. I guess he is including in that 30 other group's CDs in which he is featured. . . and some of his own that have perhaps become forgotten.... and still the question gets further complicated because many of his albums are titled in Greek.

I have a fascination with Ross since he has traveled such a musical journey - and I would like to know and hear how he sounded at various stages of his development.

Probably the best would be to go back to Crete and get the list from him personally :-)

Probably! Come to Yurdal's seminar :)
Actualy i spoke with Ross about this subject recently, he has a lot of unreleased material or material which has been released only on LP and went out of print years ago. He doesn't intend to produce new cds anymore but he wants to explore this new way of selling the music through internet directly with an E-Shop he's building so probably everything he did will be avaliable soon!

Also, even if out of topic, Kelly's cd is now going to be printed!! Check for it! :buttrock:

Yes, which doesn't mean he will stop to produce new music. Simply he doesn't believe in the "cd" format anymore

What are his reasons for this? [after spending most of his life devoted to the Cd making art].

And how will he capture his music? Only play LIVE? No more recordings?

We are not talking about composing and recording music, we're talking about publishing CDs! I think he reasonably considered that the CD format is obsolete and pointless! At the end we're talking about uncompressed audio files on an obsolete support in a plastic case :)..

So he will probably put the new music directly on his website

I don't know exactly what Ross has in mind concerning this, but i think the best idea would be an high bitrate AAC or Mp3

I know Ross has had disappointing experiences with his record company(s?). I guess we can say that it is nice to be able to have our music recorded in a professional studio - expenses covered, and have it released on a respectablelable - expenses covered... but then what????

It is understandable the he is fed up with this traditional CD format including the record company etc etc etc... and easy to understand why he might reject it -- especially now since he has a known name.

But still he will have to continue printing at least some CDs on his own - He will probably do what the rest of us are doing and that is to produce our own music, then print and market our own CDs anywhere from 300 - 3000 copies or more depending on our popularity.

But for sure the best way now-a-days is to sell these CDS and mp3s independently and retain full ownership of our music.

yes... as soon as downloadable becomes as high quality as WAV then CDs will be gone for good. Everybody will just carry around with them a 64GB flash disk and these USB (or whatever) devices will plug into any stereo, kitchen blaster, or car sound system, and away you go.

Very soon CDs will be completely gone - - - and I mean, nobody buys CDs in a shop anymore.

But what to do at gigs? Probably Cds will stick around a bit longer simply for this purpose - unless we download the files for people from a laptop right off the stage after the gig? If at that point everybody is walking around with this storage chip in their pockets anyway, then why not?

Yes, the needing of sell our music at gigs will keep us in the CD world for longer than what would normally be..
And all these <b>shoot</b>ty talent shows will keep majors in that world as well! :D

Anyway, in your list Eleftherio Simio is missing! That's a beautiful one!
