Hi Marcus, thanks for friendly comment.
This is a horn risha. I ordered a bunch of them a while ago from Egypt, and most of them have decent quality.
best wishes

Thanks a lot for your comment. I started to play Oud something like 1 1/2 - rather 1 3/4 years ago. I did play concert guitar for long time but had a
long break too.
Best wishes

can u tell me/us where you ordered them and how much they are?Or, as far as I remember, you`re locatet somewhere in germany, right? Are you willing to
sell one? I`d never used horn rishas and like to test it before I buy a
bunch.
They look very long, did you try to make 2 out of 1?
Cheers,
Marcus

I cant exactly remember, I think it was Egypt Cart. Maybe you can do some research here in the forum.
The look long, but they are to short to be divided in two (for my taste at least, I like them long). Sorry, I already gave some of them away, one wore
out already, it was quite thin ...
But I would never want to go back to plastic rishas anymore, I love the feel and sound.
Maybe you can arrange a group order through the forum?
best wishes
Robert

Hi fhalaw
thanx for the link. They look a bit rough, but for this price I think I`ll try them.
Regards

Robert, that was one nice impro...and you Oud sounds really beautiful. Who made it for you?
About Buffalo Rishas, i have just recently found few of them stuck in a Cigar tube and soaked in olive oil for at least two years. I forgot all about
them...i took one and man it sounds incredible...i really love it...true Robert once you try them, you can never go back to plastic!

re: Rishas - I can tell by the look, I'm 99% sure, they are the ones wholesaled by MidEast Manufacturing and available all over the place around
$13.50 for 6. They are excellent. The friction at the interface to the string is a bit like a bow on gut strings.
Some are shorter than others in a set. From the longest ones if you have a small hand, you can make two short rishas. If it's so short it does not
stick out past your palm, it feels entirely wrong.
Robert those are very fine improvs, thanks!
What kind of guitar strings are you using? how much tension? I find it harder and harder to go back to guitar, the tension is what bothers me. I've
been hunting for low tension strings for my little steel string acoustic and for my nylon-acoustic.
