Can someone help identify the origin of this oud?
This is my latest baby. It came from Riyad, where it was idle for a good while, and it just had this label inside. I've cleaned it up and coated the
fingerboard (which was showing some real Rasty wear!) with a Tung Oil Mix. The action is now 2.5 mm, it plays nicely, and is starting to open up to my
caresses. The scale is around 610 mm, the bowl is a little shallower than my other Arabic ouds. Here are some photos and a smarmy soundfile.
Thanks!

Strange thing! I thought that I have answered this. But, it seems that the answer disappeard!!?
I'll try again:
As far as I can see, The label says " oud Adani", meaning oud from Adan (in the Saudi penensula).
The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.

Alfaraby, I am happy to to answer your question, why this oud, and I will address that in a second. But first of all, I don't know what God has to do
with it, and in fact I don't think that's an appropriate invocation of His name.
Now, specifically if you want to know about this oud, it's because I want to use/sacrifice it as an electric -- it's comfortable to hold, and the
action is excellent. I shudder to wonder: what oud would YOU suggest for this purpose?
Thank you for the information, that "Aldani Oud" is a commercial label. That's what I was asking, what it is. As to what i paid for it, your vigorous
and ongoing concern for peoples' wallets is of course touching. I am sure you will be happy to hear that, in this case anyway, the term "my baby" has
nothing to do with expense. Not all of us measure the value of the company we keep by what they charge.

I like the base sound on this oud...
A 61cm "ought" to produce a deep base, and this oud "delivers" up to the expectation!
Excellent bye for the money!
May it "grows" in good health
The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.
