Has anyone dealt with this maker? "Yissi of Izmir"
I'm thinking of buying an oud on ebay from a dealer "Yissi of Izmir" Apparently they have been building instruments in Izmir Turkey
since 1930.
Here is a link to one of their auctions:

Has anyone here played any of their instruments or dealt with them in any way? I'm thinking of buying their electric oud. They seem very
professional and articulate in their email communications, but I'd like to do a bit more background check before ordering.
Post here or contact me directly at pauldata AT hotmail DOT com.
Thanks!

Hi Paul, Yissi is just the brand name of that line of ouds, the makers are Yilmaz Ipek, they've been around forever. I don't know what their ouds are
like, but I used to have a Yilmaz Ipek baglama and it was a fine instrument, Yilmaz himself, I don't even know if he is still alive, but he was well
known as one of the better makers in Izmir.
Just had a closer look, that soundboard is a really fine (and expensive) looking piece of spruce and should mature nicely!
