Looking for a oud teacher in Algiers
Hello, Salaam 3alaikoum
My name is Karim, I'am 26. I am algerian borned in Switzerland, and I resettled in Algiers since one month.
After playing the violine 12 years, I began to play the oud and fell in total love with this instrument. I played in Paris 8 months with professor
Michel Arkache, and I went to Damascus.
I met Oustaz Sabsaby who adviced me oustaz Zeydoun Sager from Bagdad, with whom I played intensivly during these 6 months.
I really need a teacher here in Algiers to go improve my technique and my musical knowledges, and would like to know if someone could advice me a
serious teacher in Algiers.
I am strongly motivated, and really I would be thankful to anyone who could help me.
As well, if someone knows a place where it would be possible to buy notes it would be welcome
Thank you everyone

Hi Karim,
Have you tried les beaux arts d'Alger?, most people play Andalusian style, but a lot in the south west use maqamate, look at the Conservatoire d'Alger
also, you may find people there that can help you.
Enjoy

hello, ya karim
I am Algerian too, born in Algiers, educated( University) in Britain and teaching physics in France. I have been studying eastern and arabic music
for 6 years only (and the classical guitar for 10 years. I think you are more advanced than I, but I have friends in France who are specialists (
players, teachers and luthiers), I think I can help you with the notes( what do you mean by notes?) and exercises. I expect Algeria to take off one
day, including in music. The best thing to do would be to contact me directly , mail: boucharaf@voila.fr
