Find Abdul Majid Abdallah CD?
I have a cassette of beautiful songs sung by Saudi Arabian popular singer Abdul Majid Abdallah (see attached). It's the only collection of his that I
know of that is only oud and voice. Does anyone know where I can buy a CD or download MP3 of this recording?
I bought it about 10 years ago in San Francisco, and I need to replace it before I wear it out!
HELP!
Alf Shukran,
John

Hi Brian,
I've already tried to type out and search the recording name in Arabic...no luck. Now, I'm interested in cassette to CD transcription devices. Know
anything about them and the output quality?
Thanks much,
John

hey John,
I've used my m-box to dump my stock of badly made indian cassettes into the computer. I'd be happy to do it and then we could see how it turns out

Alf shukran, Sam! I'll check out the links.
Do you live permanently in Sana'a? I am a HUGE fan of Fouad Al-Kibsy and Ayyub Tarish and really miss the Azaal City web page. I have the same
problem with my collection of Yemeni cassettes: I need to convert them to CDs (or MP3).
I generally love Yemeni music and from 1997-2008 directed a takht-type ensemble that specialized in Jewish music from the Middle East and North
Africa. We performed several songs from Yemen, especially those based on the poems of R. Shalom Shabazzi (z"l).
Ma'a El Salaam,
John
