Hi,

I have just bought one of these plectrum's from your website but have no idea on what I need to do before using it. I read somewhere that it needs to be soaked in oil, but there are no details on what kind of oil, and how long to soak it for, etc. Can you help?

Thanks

Dear aseelupeelu

We have used olive oil for 24 hours , and than after 4 days another 24 hours.
Depends how soft you prefer your Reeshe.
You can repeat this process.... it will also preserve the Reeshe.

Thanks

Dear Arab Instruments,

I have had it soaked in olive oil for about 48 hours now, and it is still very brittle. I cannot even slightly bend it around my thumb and index finger to play the oud because it is too straight. Is there a reason why my reeshe is still not soft after 48 hours?

Thank you

Hey
Every player prefer different thickness and flexibility.
You can rub it with sand paper to your prefer thickness and that might help you to get the best results from it.

Thanks
