The label reads,

Chest Change (face change, or belly change)
work of Tawfiq Ajhar in Brooklyn
124 Amity St.
11.15.1956

Please note that this label has been affixed on top of another label which is the original label of the oud. It would be hard to tell who was the original maker of the oud. But since the belly is the most important part then the authenticity of the oud has been compromised. Still the body is a real work of art.

If it sounds great enjoy it.

Thank you for the info. It seems that this might be a gamil george original that was rebuilt . It sounds wonderful. It is up for sale .

Does that mean a new top was put on or that they rebuilt the ribs in back?
