What a cool event. Packed house. Standing room only. No air conditioning. Hot music, and dancers. The oud player sang in a beautiful voice. His Lissa
fakr blew me away. The violinist was amazing, played so well, and using electronics tastefully, turning his instrument into a whole string section.
The kanun player was excellent. Percussion was solid. But I don't like it when musicians chat on stage as if riding the bus together, and as if the
music could just run on auto-pilot.
