Garbis Awwad Oud 1942.
I would like to share with you the repair of Garbis oud 1942 and how the maker must
Inspect well and makes attention to the wood used in the manufacture especially the old wood that is free of insects and mites.
Medhat wants to repair his oud which was with his grandmother who played it for many years before going away. he said its sound has a different
Arabic taste.
-strings action is very high
-soundboard is uneven and unrepairable .Medhat wants to remove it as it is very weak and have been maintained with bad repairs for many times.
- after opening the oud Insects have destroyed a large part of the Neck Block and drilled two holes at the bowl, as it is evident in the photos.
-the shape of the oud is nice.

Garbis 1942
The neck Block was treated by a sprinkling solution Against wood insects and was isolated for three days inside a nylon bag before Restoration.
