Can you tell if this is played by one oudist or two?

Trying to transcribe Marcel Khalife's Amar Al Miraye, but can't tell whether the high E and D are played by Marcel or another oud (or perhaps another instrument?)

Thanks

I think this is one oud. If you listen closely, the places where the higher part drops out are exactly where a single oudist couldn't sustain both parts.

I had the good fortune to play with Marcel (as did our fellow oudi John V., aka bulerias) as part of the New York Arabic Orchestra a couple of weeks ago and can tell you that he is quite capable of playing both parts to something like this.

You're right! I guess I was wrong. Still, it seems a single oudist could get very close.

2 ouds. Most of this album was on Ouds that Marcel played both.
This one is 2 ouds (Marcel) and a Bouzouk guest to the album by Ziad Rahbani
