Opinion about a Faruk Turunz Oud

Hello everybody!

First i would like to apologize for my very bad english!

Can anyone give me en opinion about this Faruk Turunz Oud model 09-1-01 : http://www.oudmaster.com/product.aspx?lang=2&id=4

I'm very interested with this oud!

Is there a big difference between a french polished Oud and a non polished Oud?

I've already contacted Mr Türünz who seems to be a very kind person.

Have anyone bought one of his ouds online?any problems?

Thanks

Hi Merlomann,

Firstly welcome to the forums. Your English is fine.

There are many owners of Faruk Turunz ouds on these forums. I am one of them. I originally contacted him via the internet and made my purchase without meeting him or seeing his ouds. I first contacted him because of his reputation as one of the finest oud makers.

We communicated a great deal in order to identify my requirements and he made the oud for me.
I have since been to Istanbul and met him and he is a fine gentleman, as well as a great artist.

I would suggest you ask Mr Turunz in regard to your questions about french polish etc. He know more than anyone else the differences between a finished face and a non-finished face on his ouds.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Greg
