I recently bought an oud to begin with from Egypt for 400. They put a finish on the face and pegs that makes it sound a little dead and hardly stays
in tune. Im very disappointed especially because it looks beautiful. Well I need I new one. Im big in Arabic ouds from Egypt and Syria. Let me know my
friends and im still a beginner so I need one that stays in tune and not dead haha. By the way my name is Xavier and my number is 510 314 3262
It might be that all you need is new strings and new pegs or have the present pegs fitted by someone at a quality violin shop. I wouldn't chose to
have a finish put on a oud soundboard but it's not necessarily Oud Death. Just the other day I played an oud with a finished top that sounded very
good. Your oud may not be dead but only sleeping. Good strings and good playing technique might wake it right up.
