Ringing or bell sound from M. Abdel Wahab oud playing
Hey everyone,
I have been learning oud for a few months now, i love Mohamed Abdel Wahab's oud playing, music and everything he does...
I have been really listening (in detail) to his oud playing and i noticed that in some songs that he has a ringing sound or some bell sound that comes
from the oud strings or somewhere from the oud.
i really like this sound, it has an authentic feel to it...
i have posted a you tube file "Skakli Tani" roughly 2:06 the sound is there..
and in Sit El Habayeb it has it as well... if anyone can help it would be awesome, thanks

I believe what you're hearing could be an artifact of too much compression (size, not dynamics) in the high frequencies. Anyone else agree?

What I can hear - this is the normal sound of the high G/C string plucked by a hard reesha. It's specially prominent on egyptian ouds. My great Gamil
George has the same "ringing" sound.

Thats definitely just a hard pluck. I get that from my old Ali Khalifeh oud on the nylon strings
