"Easy Fast" & Yom Kippur Hymns

Wishing a tzom kal ("easy fast") to all Forum members observing Yom Kippur and wishing "Gemar hatimah tovah!" -- "May you be sealed for a good year!" -- to ALL!

I wanted to share a couple of simple Yom Kippur "piyyutim" (hymns) which I wrote out several years ago.

"Adon HaSlihot" ("L-rd of Forgiveness") is a very famous hymn, with this particuarly melody probably originally from North Africa, but also well-known among all Jews with roots in the Arab and Muslim world.

"Yedei Rashim" is slightly less well-known. The melody I wrote out is one version as sung in Morocco. I have heard rumors that the melody may be borrowed from a song by Mohammed Abdul Wahhab.

Both hymns are interesting to me in the way they change maqam between the verse and chorus.

Blessings to all,
"Udi" John
