Palestinian Music

Hello to all.

In my Arabic class we were put into groups for the semester and assigned an Arab country. At the end of the semester we are required to give a presentation on our group's country. My group's country is Palestine.

Each member has a sub-topic to research and present (e.g., history, politics, geography) and mine is music.

After my oral presentation I wanted to give a short performance on my Oud.

I was hoping that members of this forum could share with me notable Palestinian composers, oud players with youtube clips, and famous songs.

Also, if anyone can find any websites in Arabic dealing with Palestinian music, those would be great too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

We brought our instruments in for our first Arabic class a few years ago and were a big hit! I'm sure you will be also!

Hi Ahmed :wavey:

I dont know nothing about traditional palestinian music, but I know (unfortunately not personally) 3 brilliant oud-players from Palestine.
Samir, Wissam and Adnan Joubran:D
There are clips en masse on youtube. This is one of my favourites.

Greetings from Germany,

Marcus
