new tasos theodorakis oud
here is my new oud - made by tasos theodorakis in salonika, greece.
i spent time with tasos the summer before last, choosing through a stack of german spruce boards for the soundboard...the oud has a very 'woody'
sound - in fact, and 'old 'stambul' sound, reminiscent of what we hear on the old recordings, despite the fact that it is new and raw...
wenge and paduk bowl - and no artificial anything on this instrument. it has just the tone and look that i wanted! rather than my own clip, here is
an existing one on youtube from tasos's own youtube channel...
