Turkish travel oud

Hello. I know that some people make travel ouds here but they are mostly Arabic, I think. When I go away later this year I will mostly likely have to take a travel oud since I do not want to leave it two weeks without playing. Or I can take my own oud with a hard case but my preference is for a travel oud.

Does anyone here make Turkish travel ouds and can you give a roundabout figure? It would have to be relatively inexpensive though if it were custom. Thanks.

Hi Lysander,

there was a post about a silentTtravel oud in the forum from sylud

Dont know about the scale, but it looks strong enough to be tuned turkish.

Cheers

Marcus

Playing the oud is like feeding my soul with peace

Hi Lysander

Indeed i designed an oud for travel called "Sylent-oud".

I make it with a good french guitar maker and now you can buy one for 1590 euros. This is a hand made instrument very handy for travel, very compact.

String lenght is 585 mm like a turkish oud. No problem to play with turkish tuning. Neck is consolidated with ebony rod.

You will find details and videos on http://sylentoud.canalblog.com/

Don't hesitate to ask question.
