Help Finding Good Oud in Doha
I am looking for the best place in Doha to purchase an Oud. I am new to purchasing ouds and do not want to buy a piece of junk. My budget is roughly
200-300 US dollars. Where and What should I look for? I am looking for an Egyptian oud or Syrian oud particularly with a neck that extends to the
soundhole.

isn't there a son of Foad Jihad in Doha ?
I think yould revise your budget, I heard about 600 dollars for his ouds
Sorry I cannot get more precise, but may be a track of research for you

I forwarded this topic to an oudist friend who is originally from Qatar.
This is his reply:
There is the son of Fouad Jihad and he makes awesome ouds with whatever specs you give him.
His ouds will cost no less than $1600 from what I remember.
Also, there is a store for Maurice Shehata, the Egyptian oud maker. His ouds cost from $1500+.
So yes, his price range is unrealistic.
