Oh nice mellow sound! Not too bright or metallic.

I also like the "all-natural" decoration on the backs that we're seeing around here lately. Few added decorations are ever as beautiful as figured wood grain, in my opinion.

The two-toned neck on the one oud is also pretty neat, I think.

I'm not sure why this wood is continually called african walnut on this forum as it is neither a true walnut, nor what it's called in any other building circles. I'm 100% sure that that is black limba/white limba (same tree, different distance from the center though for coloring), aka: Korina (only called that when white limba). It's heavily used in the guitar industry, especially around the 70s by Gibson guitars. It's a GREAT wood as you've discovered. It's similar in almost all fashions (tone, workability, etc.) to true mahoganies.
The instruments look great!
