Mario Kirlis string setup?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WsKkoUt_Q8&list=UUHoF-ERhospH3P...
First of all, fantastic playing. Can someone enlighten me as to why his 4th string set is clear and the top two aren't?

It seems to be the invisible string...
Seriously for some reason that string could be copper wound and the other silver wound.

Hello,
primarily the video quality is so bad, that this makes it nearly impossible to take aut exact informations out of it. But I have some assumptions:
its a 5-string oud
the 3 upper strings may be white NYLGUT
the 4th may be aluminium woud - a type of stings which is in the Aquila sets and this does not reflecht the light so much
the 5th is silverwound with a strong light reflection

Its definitely a 5 string
I didn't know about the string types you listed, just curious. They seem to sound pretty good. Any advantages to the aluminum wound our nylgut?

thin wound strings can only be done with aluminium wire. The sound is not so clear and most players don't like them so much,
Am I right?
