Oud Construction Apprenticeship
Hey Everyone,
Does anybody know of Arabic oud builders that are willing and open to taking apprentices? I'm an amateur builder and I'm looking to study with a
luthier that is willing to share their knowledge and open to having students in their workshop. I'm considering contacting some makers in Lebanon,
Palestine, or Turkey but I'd like to know if anybody knows a specific maker that might be interested in this exchange. I know not all luthiers like to
teach or have people in their workshop and I understand that most simply do not have the time to teach and produce work, that's why I'm asking for
makers that may have some experience or interest in this relationship. I would, of course, also pay for their services. I'm looking for somebody that
would be willing to take me on for a few weeks or months to make the time and travel worthwhile for me too.
Any help with my search would be much appreciated.
