"KF"treble strings
Has anyone tried Savarez Alliance KF strings for the treble courses on a oud? Do you like them? Savarez's own description of the material used is a
bit fuzzy on whether these are polyvinyl fluoride (pvf) or not. Can anyone shed light on this?
"K F" for "karbon fibre"??
thank you.

Hello,
the KF strings from Savarez are NOT carbon strings as SAVAREZ told it to me personally. They call it a polymere fibre. You will not find anywhere that
SAVAREZ calls it a carbon string.
I like them more than the carbon strings from different producers, as for me they sound less aggressive, as it is often the case.

Less aggressive sounds good to me. Thanks, Matthias. So it's another secret synthetic. OK!

Some interesting speculation on the composition of KF strings:

https://www.mail-archive.com/lute@cs.dartmouth.edu/msg45325.html
Seems like it is supposed to be more dense than PVF.
Thanks to Matthias for clarification. Savarez calls them 'carbon' on their website, adding to the confusion. All of the strings that aren't gut are
polymer strings—nylon, PVF, 'nylgut' (whatever it is—possibly Polyoxymethylene), KF (apparently maybe PVDF) are all polymers.
