Recommendation-oud teacher in Jeddah

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to take a moment to pass on a recommendation for a good teacher in the Jeddah area for anyone who might be looking, since it's one of the harder locales to hear about a good teacher:

Ali al-Hasiny
(966) 054694221

He's Syrian; he's available for intensive classes, and also teaches vocals. I had a much harder time finding a teacher as a female learner, and he was very accommodating with me. He doesn't speak English, so music lessons double as Arabic practice, which is very helpful for learning all the proper terms. His wife also makes a very good cup of Turkish coffee:). He has a music shop off Sari St. (look for Marhaba supermarket. It's just after that on the right). If you don't speak Arabic, don't worry; his wife used to be an English teacher, and I know he's had an English-speaking student in the past. They are very good people.
