I just listened this makams lessons from the great Kani Karaca.
It's amazing how clear he makes every makam in a few notes.
Even for those who don't understand turkish, (i know very little) it's very easy to follow.
Maybe it can be too hard for complete beginners, but as soon as you have a little understanding of makams, it's great.
He sings with the name of the notes so one can compare one makam with another very easily.
I always thought that singing was the key of learning music.
