Buying Student Oud
Hi all,
I've been designated the task of buying my school's first oud and I'm looking for guidance. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I'd like to buy a Turkish oud that is, of the Turkish ouds, more like an Arabic oud (with a deeper, more resonant sound). I am open to any sound oud
though. A brighter sounding Arabic oud would also be acceptable, but nothing too deep as I will be playing mostly Turkish music on it. My budget is
up to $500.
My aunt is currently in Istanbul and may be able to purchase an oud while there, although this has not yet been finalized so I can not count on it at
this point. I attend university in the United States and would like to find a shop to purchase from here in the states online.
Any suggestions on where to look or specific ouds to purchase? If anyone knows of places in Istanbul to purchase such ouds that would be fantastic as
well.

if your aunt is still in istanbul, you can check on sahibinden web site, they are good deals sometimes.
there's a faruk turunz oud for 1500TL. I wanted to go and see it last week, but i was running out of time.
It's listed at the end of the page.
