In Toronto, looking to connect with ouds/players
Hello all
I live on salt spring island, BC.. kinda outta the way
But now I'm in Toronto, visiting family. (actually east of there now, in Prince Edward county, but back in a couple days
Thought I'd put a line out, to see if anyone has a nice oud for sale here, that I could check out
or
Maybe other oud players/teachers, who would want to play/teach?
A little about me:
I've been playing oud for 2 years now, and before that played guitar for decades, in a style that seemed to want to be like an oud, without knowing
what it was
I play a Sukar oud, cedar top, mari basses and Aquila nylgut trebles.
I am currently researching new strings, and on the table for consideration are the Hannabach 2500 set, and curious about putting together a set that
is all un-wound (love farido's tone), tho kind of daunted by that prospect now -- not knowing enough to feel competent about selecting
gauges/materials, ie. different types of gut string/mayyybe nylgut/loaded nylgyt? (dunno if that's workable)
