Tunisian and Constantinian Mâlouf
Hello fellow board members!
I've been looking aroud (and playing around) a genre of Arabo-Andalusian music called Mâlouf.
It's Tunisian variant has been kindly presented to us by the Al-Kindi ensemble in its collaboration with the wonderful Tunisian Mâlouf singer Lotfi

The Constantinian Mâlouf is today best (?) represented by Selim Fergani who's done an incredible work of registering an anthology of Constantinian
Nouba, part of which you can find on Youtube (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGU48nz7pmI&t=62s ). I also recommend his collection of classical songs in honor of the Constantinian
architect and bridge-builder Salah Bey.
There's also a pretty non-functional site that contains good information on the Mâlouf of Constantine: http://maloufdeconstantine.com/ecole.html?ecole=3 It contains some information on rhythms and the Constantinian version of Maqâmat called Tibou'a
(sg. Tiba'a) with some correspondences (ex. Tiba'a Hsin corresponds to Maqâm Hussein).
As I found that the information on these two forms of Arabo-Andalusian classical music is rather scarce (esp. in English), I wanted to present it and
encourage to share resources about the Mâlouf (partitions, wonderful pieces you've found, your disgust, etc) in this thread.
