Oud Stands: metal, wood, vertical or horizontal...
Hi all,
I'm wondering which stand(s) that you find the best/you use for your Oud ?
Some are vertical like The Hercules (414B or 415B) for guitar : are they good for the oud ?
Others are putting the oud in horizontal position (I expect it ''fatal'' for the oud on stage or in Rehearsal) because you can easily squeeze the
neck accidentally... ? like this one : http://www.arabinstruments.com/oud-stand.
Others are on wood (?)
Thanks to share your opinion on this topic

Hi,
I use this and really like it:
GS-100
There is also this one that might be even better, though I haven't tested it:
gs-200

A local Greek outi player uses a home-made stand consisting of two large driftwood branches wedged together by a mortise and tenon joint whittled with
a knife. I think he had to scan the beach for days to find pieces with the right geometry. Looks really cool but it's about as portable as an
armchair.

Wow Matthias ! This exactly what I was searching for since so long.
Is it possible to fold/disassemble it easily ?

That's what I use, it's cheap and the oud really stands out in it. the stand is also foldable, so it's great if you're taking your oud for a
performance.
