Brexit and oud supplies


Thanks to the UK fascist coup, it looks like pretty near nothing as low-volume as oud-related products is going to get past the Johnson junta's self-inflicted blockade.

Who in the UK has stocks of ouds, strings or Middle Eastern music books?

And if anybody's coming here from Turkey could they get me a few books from Pan Yayıncılık in İstanbul? The changes in tax regulations will make it impossible for them to sell to me.

Believe me, I was concerned too. However, the UK and Turkey recently signed an independent trade deal, as Turkey is not an EU country and the UK wants to preserve its economic interest there.

Looking at the gov.uk website, it appears that you will only have to pay VAT on ouds coming into the UK from Turkey. I haven't looked at the classification of strings, cases or other accessories, but I can imagine it wouldn't be dissimilar.
