question: how many here also play baglama or guitar (or bass)?

Curious if there oudis who are also guitar players --- i suspect many of us are.

If so, are you all playing rock, jazz, flamenco?

im asking because I'm thinking on my next order from factories for oudstrings.com, whether i should be offering guitar strings as well, and if so which styles, etc.

Would one-stop shopping be useful?

also, how many double in baglama or buzuk? Its impossible to get a proper US based source for these, and im thinking thats also something to offer.

Thanks for asking. I dabble in Turkish saz and Greek Bouzouki as well as oud/ud. I don't play the former two nearly as much so my string changes are less frequent. Also don't forget the cumbus!

I too dabble with persian Setar which uses similar (though not identical) strings to Saz. Like Eric, strings changes are not a frequent matter for me. It would be nice to know where I could find high quality German (i.e. Pyramid) strings as they are hard to come by in the states, specifically spools of strings sold by weight.

I tend to only order oud strings once or twice a year but I'd definitely pick up guitar strings at the same time if it was an option. I use Savarez Argentine strings on my gypsy jazz guitar, there are only a few retailers for them in America but the genre is so niche I'm not sure how much volume there would be.
