Advice for second oud
Hello all,
New member here, just started with the Arabic and Persian oud for a few months on a beginner's Zeryab (coming from a background of Central Asian
dutars).
My teacher has suggested I should upgrade the instrument. Coming from East Asia, I have no chance to travel to Turkey/Middle East/Europe to try
instruments and thus am looking at other options. I am looking for something in the $800-$1000 range, probably Turkish-made (as many have said, it's
better value there). I wonder what suggestions there are? I understand that at this price, one can perhaps get a lower-tier instrument from a
top-maker/brand, or a handmade instrument from a lesser-known maker. Would be grateful for any suggestions!!
