Standard scale length of Turkish ouds

Hi folks,

At what point in time 58.5 cm was selected to be the standard scale length of Turkish ouds?

Is this a fairly recent standard? I read somewhere that Manol made larger ouds and 58.5 cm was among his smaller builds.
