Carpathian Tonewood

I've just gotten two tops worth of carpathian tonewood and the tap tone is amazing -- marimba-like with a 3 or 4 second decay. It will take a bit of time before I can join it and get it on an instrument but I was wondering if anyone has tried this stuff out and whether there are any opinions?
