This Question for Mr. Haluk Erayedin . Or any one who is familiar with.......

Mr. Eraydin thank you I got the oud , It is great I did not expect such a good oud for that price .
I have a question for you ,What is the Soudboard made of ? And it is not finished ? Can I spry it with laquer so it will look semi shiny and protect the soundboard ? If yes what kind of spry would i need. ? Thank you very much in advance . Samir , California

Dont spray the soundboard with anything. Just be carfefull with the face with you nails etc.. but anything you could spray on there would kill the sound. The best ouds and the best guitars never have anykind of finish on the face. You just have to make shure one of those Cats doenst get confused with the oud and a toy the could use for there claws!

The top appears to be spruce, I could be wrong though. Glad you're enjoying the oud Samir, what strings did you put on? I am going to order some Aquilas this week, just have to decide what tuning I want.

Jason , I have Aquila strings but dont like them at all .I am going to try LaBella. I have a beter luck with laBella. Have them in a few Ouds and they sound great. It is just a waiste for me I replaced a few .i had on my Shehata . pyramid but 12 strings and trashed them for LaBella and the sound is great .And here I will trash the Aquila and try Labella but i will do that in a few days ,got itred replacing strings.
Regards my friend and enjoy your oud. Samir

Samir, did you cut the strings off of your oud or just take them off? If you just took them off I may be interested in buying them from you. I'm still in the stages of figuring out what I like, I'm sure it would be cheaper to get a few used sets instead of investing in a bunch of different brands at new prices. It seems like everyone has their own preference for strings.

Hi Sam,

The soundboard is made of quality Spruce wood,2 pieced.
On Turkish ouds, soundboards are not finished. You should try to keep the face clean.
About the pegs:Don't sand them.If your place humid, please put a very little talc powder with the edge of your little finger and after cleaned the powder, insert the peg into it's hole. That Balsam pegs are as good as Ebony pegs and they never slip
Labella also will sound great on your oud like Aquilas.
Enjoy your oud.
