That's right! Wow! But "wow" not so much for the line up, but rather because Montreal is an awesome city. There always seems to be something good
going on there.
Samir, I used to live in Binghamton, NY (upstate) and can say that the only thing I enjoyed about living there was that Montreal was relatively close
by. I would go every year to the Jazz festival in July (at other times just for kicks and other random concerts). The only other city that comes close
to the feel of Montreal in terms of music festivals, in my opinion, is--believe it or not--Bloomington, Indiana!
I wish I could check some of the events with you. Have fun.

That is a truly not-to-be-missed line-up if I ever saw one.

Wow, that's amazing. I'm tempted to make the trip.
KTB, did you go to school in Bloomington? I have a lot of friends here in NYC from that are amazing musicians. One of them is Megan Weeder
(violin).
They talk about how it's the perfect environment for a musician, and it really does sound great.
Anyway, thanks Samir for the link!
Take care,
mav

Hey Mav,
I was teaching at IU. Yeah, I know Megan Weeder from hanging out at a local coffee house called Soma and seeing her in Tall Steve's annual party after
the Lotus Festivals. She play's baglama, too--but you probably already know that. Well, whatever your friends are telling you about the music scene in
Bloomington, it is all true and then some. It IS the perfect place for musicians, and--as a result--for music lovers. Great place to cool out; great
place to meet a lot of cool people. It is, perhaps, the smallest city in the midwest in which it is socially unacceptable to be intolerant on any
level. Bigots are rare, and THAT'S RARE. Hats off to Bloomington!

I was reading.. something about the shadi jameel's performance.
Its called Tarab extreme... wich I couldnt bring myself to understand untill I noticed something. It says the audience should expect a performance of
about 6 to 8 hours !!!! I guess you really get caught up in the moment of the Tarab with such a long performance. He's performing with the classical
ensemble of Halepo wich are incredible musicians. I cant attend to it. Since Iam going to see shamma and his band. But these guys really earn there
money.
