Sagr, man take it easy on us. We can't handle that much good playing all at one time! But seriously, you're playing is fantastic. Let me ask you
though, how do you tune your oud when you played that last farid taqassim. I can never seem to land the right notes when I play Farid's music.

Impressive Quraish. Farido in the making, your playing has the soul.
The sustain you are getting from the oud is good. How long have you been playing and what are the specifics of the oud you played for these
pieces?
Great job man.

HEY ALL..thankx a million for all of ur great remarks.....ellie...the oud im playin on is the one for sale...its by m7md fadel..made in 1965..bashir
style.all pieces are played by the same oud.ive been playing for almost 6 years now....but its not how long ive been playing..its how long i practice
that really makes the diffrence.....hey revaldo..when i started to practice on
fareed's tagseems..i never landed a single note right..i still dont...but im getting closer and closer the more i practice and more i listen to the
tagseem...there are still a lot for me to learn...i pretty much dont really know the rules for the maqamat.....i just play what i hear..unlike
farido...he actually understand what his doing...thats y his the king. hopefully one day ill understand them as well as he did. BTW.. regarding the
tuning...i usually tune it the same way he has it tuned..on his video in the video section...the one where its black and white...1st u get the 5th
string tuned...then with that u tune the second..and with that u tune the 4th...then with that u tune the 1st ...last u do is the third....hope its
helpful to u.it has ben my pleasure to share these tagseems with all of u...i glad to b a part of mikes website..it has helped me learn a lot..and
introduced me to the king himself.farid.

Samir, give me one week bro. My last finaly is Friday the 16th and then I'm a free man. I do have to figure out a way to get better quality
recordings. I'm getting tired of using a computer mic.
Sagr, I'm confused about the tuning method. Do you know the specific notes or do you just tune by ear?

Hello all fine people in DC/VA,
I live in Fairfax and would like to meet up with you guys who live in this area. I am new to oud but originally a guitar player and have a decent home
studio with few toys (Korg Triton, Roland JV-80, Ensoniq ASR-10 synth/samplers, Ibanez, Cordoba and Norman guitars). I had an entry level Egyptian
oud (by Murad Turkey?) that was very difficult to tune. So it ended up in the closet. I would appreciate your help in getting a good oud. I will be
glad to help you record some of your fine playing or to host jamming session once I put back my studio together (most likely in January).
