I'm not sure if you all have heard of this oudist. I only encountered his name a few weeks ago.

If any of you have recordings of him *ahem ahem Mike ahem* post them up.

The reason why I bring him up is... I was walking in UCLA yesterday and saw that he will be at UCLA this coming Saturday, Novermber 22, 2003. Everyone in So. Cal. should try to go.

What does everyone think of him?

Thanks in advance...

Hi

I have the album 'Music from the Armenian Diaspora Played on the Oud' by John Bilezikjian, and it is great. He is definitely worth seeing in concert if you can.

He has his own website at

http://www.dantzrecords.com

where you can listen to and order his CDs. As far as I know, the above CD is the only solo oud CD - the rest are Armenian belly dance or folk music recordings.

By the way, is everyone aware of the other great Armenian oud recordings available by Roupen Altiparmakian, H. Aram Gulezyan and George Mgrdichian? If not, I have full details of them on my website at

http://website.lineone.net/~david.parfitt/artists.html

Best wishes

David
