well it sounds awesome, did you use superglue as they suggest?

I looked up the western mini and it only had 3 transducers, did you mean this one?

or this one...

Sorry for all the questions, searching for "that" elusive sound...

Cheers, S

know actually, i think this is the one with the three.... i didnt install it myself, but they did use the superglue. Very happy with the sound. its a little dark, but with just a touch of EQ on the amp it sounds gorgeous and the gain before feedback ratio is amazing, really strong signal. Cant go wrong!

Ahh well, now I'm really confused, because if it's 3 head it must be either the Pure 12-String or the Pure Mini... (assuming it is just the transducers terminating in the end pin and no pre-amp) but they are both for steel strings...

The one for nylon strings is the Pure Classic and has 4 transducers...

Any clues?

The strength of the bass tone is mentioned on the K&K website as one of the properties of the 12-string model, which could explain the dark tone you mention...

You're right it does sound gorgeous, and it's always better to have a lot of tone that you can cut/filter out if necessary rather than have to try to boost things.

Great work TP21

Though the sound of Master Faruk Turunz's oud is your video sounded exceptionally outstanding, but nobody can deny your play on it which to me was truly sensational and efficient.
In fact i can say see that oud runs in your blood. I could also smell Damascene Jasmin in that piece.
The only negative thing i must comment on is the annoying noise that was surrounding you of people who really didn't pay attention to what you were playing.
Great work TP...keep it up man:applause: :applause::applause:

Damascene_oud,

Thank you very much for your kind words. I only came across your post today, so I must apologize for the delay. The oud by Master Faruk was certainly amazing, and I thank him sincerely for allowing me the opportunity to play on it.

Thank you again!

Three recent pieces, roughly recorded yesterday night.

Ashegh, a small piece in 6/8. It's meant to be in makam Uşşak.

Doulab Nahawand. I'm not quite sure if Nahawand is performed really well in this piece. Also I'm not sure if it's still inside Doulab form, since it is relatively fast and has four parts. I tried to keep it simple

Baltik Denizi Zeybek. A slow Zeybek dedicated to my home. It shows some Nahawand and Nawa Athar, but using harmony.

Mood: Sunbati Obsession

[*] posted on 3-8-2018 at 12:28 AM

Dear all,

This is a video recording on one of my top favorite ouds (made by the late Armenian luthier Serigan Matossian, early 1900's; in Jerusalem). The melody is of Um Kulthum's great song (Hasibak Lizzaman; composed by the super amazing Riadh Sunbati). Hope you like it ;)

Kindest regards,

Here is a short trailer with excerpts of several of my compositions. This project consists of oud, saz, ney and percussion and in my pieces I tried to follow Turkish, Arab and Persian modal structures. Hope you enjoy.
