Seeking N. African Music - Arrange Trade?
Greeting Fellow Oudists,
I live in Northern California, USA, where most of our Arabs are Lebanese (#1), Palestinian (#2), or Yemeni (#3). There are few Moroccans, Algerians,
or Tunisians here, and it is very hard to find recordings of traditional North African music. I am not looking for fancy CDs made for export to
Europe and North America, the "Musique du Monde" type. I want those cheap, funky cassettes that you can buy in Arabic groceries.
I figure that the basic Egyptian and Lebanese music is available in any big city in Europe or North America, but maybe I can trade someone something
harder to find, like traditional Yemeni or Iraqi music for cassettes of traditional North African music.
Anyone interested? Any of you folks in Franjistan (France) maybe?
