My new one from Dincer

I just got a new oud. I have been looking forward to it, and now that it is here, I can't put it down.
It is perfect. Clean, beautiful lines, with awesome figured wood. And the craftsmanship is unbelievable.
A lot of you guys are going to know who made this just by seeing the first picture.

That mahogany is unbelievable. This is the most beautiful wood I think I have ever seen on an oud. The contrasting wood is Padouk.

I love this oud. Really clean, simple lines in front--just a classic Turkish oud.

Dincer Dalkilic, 2006

Thanks, Dincer. It is fantastastic.

Contact Dincer for prices, if you are interested.
The guy is a class act. Let me give you just one example. We agreed on a price for the oud, and a price for the postage. A couple of days ago, I got a check back for $36 because the postage was less than he thought it would be. Not many people would have done that.
I highly recommend him. I am going to try to get a sound sample up when the strings settle down a bit. It has a lot of volume. A nice, bright, clean sound, very resonant. A real Turkish sound.

Excellent work. Iam just like WOW.
There should be a smiley with his tongue out to the floor.
Mohagany is my favorite type of wood for the back especialy the way he cut it and bend it in a way to create those waives. Really nice oud Jonathan. Congradulations.

Congratulations Jonathan! I got to see this oud while it was still unfinished, but didn't time my visit in time to play it finished. It's beautiful, I hope you enjoy it!

Dincer's ouds really have a special tone, and the thought and care he puts into making them is really something.

Play it in good health!

To tell you the truth, Sydney, I am not sure myself. I guess this is how Dincer usually makes them. He said that I could have it either way. I had one once before that had an extended fingerboard, and I did not like it, and sold it. The workmanship on Dincers is a lot better, however, and I am happy with it. I know that Mav and Lee Varis got essentially the same, and they were happy with theirs, so that meant a lot. So, I guess the answer is, I really do not know!.
Thanks.
