The six-pointed star used in the kwitra's rosette was actually a common geometric motif in the region, not something particular to Jews. It is a basic
pattern in Islamic art, and can be seen even in the decorative carvings and tilework in mosques.

I am most definitely no expert, but the oud does appear to be exceptionally elegant and well made. I can only guess how lovely it sounds. (hopefully
half as good as it looks).
