Wound and plain strings on the same course
I noticed that lutes utilize this combination. I haven't done any research into the details of this. Maybe they are tuned in unison, maybe they are an
octave apart? Maybe someone who knows lutes can explain. It's an intriguing idea though, and I wonder what it might sound like on an oud.

Lastly, I got by mistake (I did not check the envelope) the Pyramid strings with naylon 3rd string - D. I usualy use the, you call it wounded (kind a
metal) D string.
Naylon is just a desaster! Dificult to tune it, sounds bad, not good!

Hey Jameel,
if you have the Udi Hrant CD "The Early Recordings", on Traditional Crossroads, check out track 16 "Hicaz taksim çiftekiris". you can hear his ud on
this track has each course of strings tuned in octaves. it's an interesting effect.
Also i've heard some Bacanos recordings where it sounds like one of his courses is tuned like this. i forget which course and which tuning.

Hi Jameel
I'm not 100% certain of this, but I think lutes use an octave tuning for all courses except the highest and lowest.
