I want to learn the Oud
Hello everyone, I have a sudden interest in learning the Oud. I have always been interested in Middleastern style music in general. My interest
started when I heard a certain Metal Band play in a Arabic style sound. It caught my ear and I started learning some scales on guitar. But now I want
to try a Oud, it sounds really amazing on its own as opposed to a electric guitar. I really don't know what to look for, it seems there are many
variations. I would like the most common style. I have money, but I would like to spend the least amount if possible.

Hi Tricemike!
Wellcome to the forum
I´m going to start playing Ud in a little time, as you I´m very interesting in arabic music (I am from al-Andalus) and I play guitar in a metal
band, http://www.userne.net
The sound of our band is really eclectic but we are inside arab and flamenco music more and more.
After play different modes and scales with the electric guitar I think it´s not enought,...... this is one of the reasons for me to learn the ud.
