New Videos

Hey everybody,

Just a note that there are now four new videos on the Instructional Page. They focus on maqam rast, and I hope they are going to be helpful.

This is a great addition to your instructional page Mike! Awesome work again!

And you know I am so in love with Wael's Shehata. I could listen to it all day.

Great videos!

Hi Mike

Just wanted to second Mav's comments - these new instructional videos are awesome!

Do you know, by any chance, who is the composer of the Rast Semai?

All the best

David

Hey guys,

Thanks for your comments fellas. Look for more in the future. David, the semai was composed by Tatyos. It is only the first and second khannas and the taslim.

Take care,
Mike

Hey everybody,

Eleven more videos have been added on the Instructional Page. These focus on maqams Ajam Ushayran and Nahawand. Many thanks to Wael Kakish for helping us all out with these videos! Also, Ziad has been in touch with me, and the guy is amazing. He sent me a demo of an interactive "Virtual Oud Teacher" program he made with the rast videos update from last week. I then showed it to Wael, and hopefully this project can be finished within the next few months. Videos will be in MPEG format at 30 frames/second, which will make for much better quality, and there will be some other great interactive features. Way to go Ziad!

Enjoy the latest updates. :airguitar:

Take care,
Mike
