Traveling with instruments
If anyone's interested, the American Federation of Musicians has called for musicians to boycott Delta Airlines.
From the AFM website:
Quote: |
The AFM also has been working with the airline industry to institute uniform carry on and storage policies in respect to instruments. While most
airlines have shown sympathy toward musicians, Delta Airlines remains uncooperative and has created numerous problems for AFM members. In response,
the AFM issued a boycott of Delta.

We have been given the runaround by airlines for decades and I am happy to see that the AFM is forcing the issue. Perhaps we will have a consistent
policy so we can plan ahead.

This is great, thanks for sharing Brian.
I've had horrible times on Delta and Song (a daughter company of Delta) and refuse to fly with them. I've even sent them an angry letter for their
ridiculous policies - send a fragile instrument into the luggage, but allow huge suitcases on as carry on...
There are so many airlines that work with musicians, there's no reason to use Delta.
Thanks,
mav
