the according oud in spanich guitar


hello every body it is possible to according one oud in tuning of classical guitare and the string maker can do it and it is good for my oud i dont want to make a string guitar but a string oud in tuning spanich for play flamenco in my oud

The tensions may be weird but you could mix a Turkish set of bass strings with the upper four strings of an Iraqi tuning set.

This would give you E A D G C F and you could probably tune the C and F down to B and E.

I wouldn't recommend this tuning without consulting your luthier as the tensions could be very dangerous for your oud

I think that, to obtain a well balanced tension, the best option is to use guitar strings, but tuning them in D if the oud is short scale (58.5 cm) or in C if it has more than 60 cm.

Use Aquila Arabic set "ff cc gg dd aa FF C". Use C if you have 7 string oud. Tune ff to ee, cc to bb and FF to EE. This will produce well balanced sound across the strings.
