Syrian oud for sale

I have a full sized Arabic oud made by the Syrian builder named Safi. The scale length is 24" and it was built in 1970. I have pictures but they are not sized yet, so I'll post them later. In the meantime I can e mail pictures to anyone interested. The price is $450 U.S. plus shipping. I don't have a case for it. Ask any questions you like.

All the best,
Roy

The oud has had some cracks repaired. Everything is very stable and there was some wood removed from the tone brace to increase the bass response as per Dr. Oud's helpful instructions. The small rosettes do not appear to be original, and in this next photo you can see that one of the staves is a different type of wood. It could have been a replacement or it could have been done when the oud was built. From looking at it closely, it looks original. You can also see where some of the varnish ran a bit. The oud plays well with no buzzing and has a definate old world vibe. The pegs could use some fitting, but it holds its tuning well. Here is the last photo. I'll try to post a sound clip if I can figure out how, but it won't be for a few days.

I just wanted to say that Roy was great to deal with, the oud was as described and came expertly packed and intact.
