Oud Workshop in LA!!!
Hello my fellow Oudis-
I recently posted an add on craigslist about "oud player available for parties, etc." and got a couple bites regarding oud lessons... I don't feel I
am advanced enough to actually give lessons, but though it would be a great idea to have an oud "jam session" or workshop- maybe bi-weekly, and it
would be great for all of us in the LA area who want to learn new things from eachother, with a more fun enviroment... you know? get some argileh,
some arak (if you do that), and get down-
we could rent a studio space, or we could do it at someones house... or just kick it in a park, for all I care- I just want to see it happen-
Anyone interested? please lemme know- U2U me, and I'll send you my phone number and we can coordinate a day and location- PLEASE PLEASE!! it would be
great-

How about January 20th at my place? You guys up for it? Should be enough room. Let me know. I can always change the date, but I am hoping we can
get some sort of turnout for it.
It's in West Hollywood--the parking is a little tight, but we can work around it.
I am hoping we can pull this off again.

Jonathan can't host the party on the 20th
Due to a family emergency, Jonathan can't host the party on the 20th because he will be out of town.
Right now I'm looking for alternatives. I "might" be able to host at my house. ( right near LaCienega and the 10 fwy in Los Angeles) I don't have as
much room as Jonathan does but we can probably make it work for a late afternoon to late evening thing, say 4 PM to 1 AM? Pot luck?
Anyone still interested in getting together? Jump in now with a show of hands

Jan 20th I have a performance at Fais Do Do- actually you guys should check it out- Its an Event called "Arabs-Blacks-Jews: The Art of Resistance"
There will be all types of speakers and poets, and my crew The Philistines, the Nomads, and I, Excentrik will be performing some Arab Hip Hop
(complete with Oud).
Maybe the week after that would be better... I really want to get it together- Lee, I'll contact you via email- we'll get it all organized-

workshop
Hey everyone, I'm new to the website actually. Tarek, I called you from your add on Craigslist and you told me about the website, its really great.
I live in LA and I think it would be great if we can work out that workshop idea. I've been looking for people to play music with for a while (I play
precussions also).
So Tarek, I'm not sure how many people expressed their interest, but Im definitely in.
