A New CD From Joseph Tawadros

I have just heard from Joseph Tawadros that his new CD "Epiphany" is soon to be released.
This will be his fourth album release in a little over three years. His other albums are "Storyteller" ,"Rouhani" and "Visions."
In this new offering, Joe teams up with younger brother, James on percussion and fabulous Australian electric bass player, Ben Rodgers.
I have had a sneak preview of a couple of tracks and, if those tracks are anything to go by, this is going to be one great CD. Joe's playing is, as usual, breathtaking.

Maybe we could put part of one of the tracks up here on the forums. How about it Joe? (Café Riche, pleeeeese ;-)

Regards,

Greg

Joseph's CD "Epiphany" has now been released

Joseph's new "live" CD, "Epiphany" has just been released.

Details at:
http://www.birdland.com.au:8080/Birdland/catalogue/category634/p463...

He has given me permission to share a couple of tracks and I will put the link up as soon as I get an opportunity to convert them to mp3.

Believe me, they are worth waiting for

Regards,

Greg

Just received my copy of Joe's latest CD, and I have to say I can't get enough it! The electric bass works really well with the oud and percussion, and in my view he's got just the right balance between tradtional and modern. Joe has that rare combination of amazing technique as well as good taste, and I would seriously recommend getting a copy of this CD (as well as his other three, if you don't have them already).

I just received my copy of the CD as well.
Until I received it, I was not aware that there are some traditional tracks as well as the more modern compositions using Ben Rodgers' electric bass.

With Joe's permission I have uploaded a couple of full tracks.

"Taqasim Nahawand" is a 9.2 MB file and runs for 10 minutes.
and
"Café Riche" is 7.3 MB and runs for 8 minutes.

They can be found at http://www.worldmusiccafe.info/files/
(Note: Jan8, 2008 - Due to size restraints, these tracks have now been removed from the site. However, there are still some video clips of JT available for download)

Joe regularly visits these forums and is very keen to hear feedback from other forum members.

Regards,

Greg

I'm with you guys. I just got my copy last week. It is different than any of his others, and it is just as nice too. I agree with you guys that the balance between the traditional and modern is done just right. Another very nice CD is that of Haytham Safia's. I'll post comments on that one in another thread.

Both he and his brother are such good players. We are lucky to have them here! Love the Riq playing.
